Coffee Enema

Liver Cleanse

An excellent way to stimulate the liver to detoxify itself is with coffee enemas. The coffee is absorbed directly through the colon wall and goes via the portal vein directly to the liver. It stimulates the liver to produce bile and could cause nausea.

A little nausea is desirable, but if it is too great, reduce the amount of coffee used or use the enema on a full stomach. The coffee should be stronger than that used for drinking.

The enema is most often used in metabolic cancer therapy and is extremely valuable in many successful detoxification programs. Coffee enemas alkalize the first part of the intestines, enhance enzyme function, and stimulate the production and release of bile.

Enemas, however, do tend to deplete the potassium levels, therefore, care must be taken for proper supplementation.

One way to supplement is to use Black Strap Molasses.
Black Strap Molasses is a great food source of vital, blood building nutrients such as: Iron, Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, and B Vitamins. One Tablespoon of molasses can be mixed with 6 ounces of almond, rice, or organic cow’s milk. You can even put it in your health smoothie daily.

Procedure of Coffee Enemas

The type of coffee to be used:

Regular, ground (drip coffee), not instant or decaffeinated. Organic coffee may be used. Alternatives such as chicory may not have the same stimulatory effect as regular coffee.

Options for making solution:

1) Use 2 heaping Tablespoons of grounds to slightly more than 2 cups of distilled water and brew. This will make strong coffee. Add the 2 cups of brewed coffee to 2 cups of regular distilled water and pour into an enema bag. Use all contents of the enema bag full quart amount. This is slightly weaker than the next option.

2) Mix 2 heaping Tablespoons ground coffee to 1 qt. steamed distilled water, and brew in coffee pot. You may use the full quart or if just beginning; use two cups of the solution, after it has cooled to body temperature. If solution needs to be reheated to body temperature DO NOT use a microwave.

*If very sensitive to caffeine, a weaker solution may be used in the beginning until the liver is more cleansed. Doing the first enema in the morning would also be best.

Take this enema preferably on your knees or lie down on your back. Have your legs, drawn close to abdomen, and breathe deeply while enema is given slowly. Retain fluid 10 to 15 minutes. Many may not be able to retain the fluid that long the first few times, but as the program progresses, this should become easier.

Coffee enemas are given for stimulation and detoxification of the liver, not necessarily for the function of cleansing the intestines.

To detoxify in serious conditions, take two coffee enemas per day. Follow this routine for two weeks, then the coffee enemas should be reduced to only one per week for one month.

For less severe cases, one per day for 7-10 days may be used. One coffee enema three times a week can be used for an additional two weeks.

Your body may have a build-up of toxins or poisons from time to time. Symptoms indicating toxicity are a decrease in appetite, headaches, increase in tiredness, and a general lack of well-being. When these occur, increase coffee enemas once again to one per day until symptoms subside, or for a maximum of three to four days. Be sure to supplement with potassium. Then return to a routine.

Liver Dysfunction Diet

The diet must contain high-quality protein, such as white turkey meat, leg of lamb, game, yogurt, cottage cheese, goat’s milk, sprouted seeds and grains, raw nuts (especially almonds), and sesame butter or ground sesame seeds sprinkled over food, and raw and steamed vegetables of all kinds.

Small, frequent meals are preferred, rather than two or three large ones. Raw, fresh vegetables and fruits, free of artificial colors, preservatives, or chemicals of any kind are a must.

Avoid all animal fats, canned and refined foods, synthetic vitamins, drugs, strong spices, sugar, coffee, black tea, and alcohol.

The best juices at this time are carrot/celery/parsley with one teaspoon of cream for every 8 oz of juice, red beet (excellent), cucumber, papaya, blue grapes, lemon, and green juice. The best herbs are Dandelion, St. John’s Wort, Lobelia, Parsley, Horsetail, Birch leaves, and Sarsaparilla.

The best herb teas are peppermint, spearmint, chamomile, and thyme.
