Vitamin C Show

Well, it’s required in over 300 metabolic functions within the human body and yet your body does not manufacture it. It’s a powerful anti-oxidant and is needed for tissue growth and repair. It aids in adrenal function and is essential for stress hormones. It gives you healthy gums, boosts your immune system and even reduces symptoms of asthma. It naturally chelates, or claws and pulls out heavy metals from the body, protects you against cancer and lowers bad cholesterol and keeps you looking young and thin…And that’s just a drop in the bucket.

What does all that? What is this “Silver Bullet”? What is it? Where do you get it, if your body doesn’t manufacture it?

Well, it’s not a silver bullet and it’s been around since the beginning of time! It’s Vitamin C and you have to eat it or supplement with it! It was in the first garden, if you know what I mean…And today I’m going to give you as much information as I can possibly cram into this show. It’s so powerful and yet so often overlooked! But the “Great Vitamin C” will not be over- looked today.

And who knows most about Vitamin C, I’d have to say without a shadow of a doubt it’s Linus Pauling, Ph D. He was the only person ever to win two unshared Nobel prizes, one of which was for his findings of Vitamin C. So get ready, because today on Alternative Health I’m going to tell you the inside Vitamin C scoop!

According to Dr. Pauling symptoms of Vitamin C include a feeling of weakness, restlessness, rapid exhaustion and sallow skin. A patient will also experience muscle pain, depression and hemorrhaging of muscles and tissues. Extreme cases are extreme exhaustion, kidney and pulmonary problems.

Ok, let’s first talk about some of the foods that contain the highest levels of Vitamin C –

Bee Pollen, Oranges, Strawberries, Guavas, Blackcurrants, Lemon, Papaya, Persimmons, Elderberries, Grapefruit, Mangoes, Orange, Cantaloupe, Loganberries, Tangerines, Currants, Raspberries, Blackberry, Apple, Apricot, Pineapple, Avocado, Bananas, Garlic, Passion fruit, Redcurrant, Gooseberry, Red Chili, Parsley, Paprika, Rosehips, Ginkgo Biloba, Nettle, Peas – Green, Soya Beans, Lima Beans, elp, Capsicum, Broccoli , Lemon Grass, Wheat Grass, Tomato, Cabbage, Watercress, Mustard Greens, Brussels Sprouts, Capsicum-Red, Carrot, Kale, Asparagus, Cabbage-Red, Spinach, Cauliflower, Turnips, Okra, Asparagus, Green Beans, Radish, Onions

Now, one thing that’s very important to know is that while all of these are high in Vitamin C, when they’re cooked they lose at least half their Vitamin C content, so they must be eaten raw. Dr. Pauling said a decent American diet would only provide about 100 mg of Vitamin C daily. However, according to his findings one half of the people studied only took in 57.9 mg of Vitamin C daily. And one third of adults didn’t even get the recommended daily allowance which is only 45 mg per day.

The sad facts are that in order to truly rid the body of ailments, viruses and bacteria Dr. Pauling said we must ingest thousands of mg. throughout the day. Bottom line Vitamin C is known for its antiviral and phagocytic activity as well as its immunostimulant effect on lymphocyte cells. Furthermore, resistance to disease decreases if a Vitamin C deficiency occurs. So take Vitamin C.

Many other studies have investigated the effect of Vitamin C on other diseases. Studies have shown that Vitamin C supplementation may prevent cataracts, as well as possibly reduce the risk of periodontal disease, atherosclerotic heart disease, and diabetes. Also Vitamin C is indicated in reducing blood pressure and decreasing cholesterol in the blood.

Now, we know Vitamin C fights disease, so let’s get specific. What all does it do? First off, Vitamin C is a powerful Antioxidant. It destroys and counteracts free radicals as well as protects the brain from free radical damage, and we all need to keep and protect all the brain cells we have!!!

Vitamin C improves the body's utilization of Cholesterol by increasing good HDL and converting the LDL, the bad cholesterol to the HDL, so it makes more of the good and gets rid of the bad cholesterol. And at the same time reduces triglycerides. Studies show 2000 mg of Vitamin C per day lowers blood sugar levels, so all of you borderline, type 1 or type 2 diabetics, need to be taking your Vitamin C. And typically Diabetics are found to have low levels of Vitamin C.

Vitamin C alleviates and prevents Fatigue primarily by facilitating the production of the Thyroid Hormone, Thyroxine. So all you low thyroid people can really benefit by taking Vitamin C and people who consume high levels of Vitamin C exhibit 50% less Fatigue than those who consume low doses of Vitamin C.

Vitamin C combined with Vitamin E improves Liver function and Vitamin C accelerates weight loss…yeah, I knew that would get your attention! And while you’re thinning down by taking Vitamin C you can aid your body in the prevention and treatment of many forms of Cancer - Cancer patients are generally found to be deficient in Vitamin C and supplemental intravenous Vitamin C has actually increased the life expectancy of Cancer patients.

Vitamin C protects against Bladder Cancer and prevents and treats breast Cancer. Vitamin C protects against Cervical Cancer, Cervical Cancer patients generally have 50% lower levels of Vitamin C compared to healthy people. Vitamin C protects against Colon Cancer by speeding the passage of stools through the Intestinal Tract, thereby preventing exposure of the Intestines to carcinogens. Vitamin C helps to prevent Esophageal cancer along with protecting against Larynx Cancer. People who are deficient in Vitamin C have approximately double the risk of developing Larynx Cancer compared to people consuming adequate Vitamin C.

Vitamin C helps to prevent and treat Liver Cancer as well as Lung Cancer, the growth of Melanoma cells, and Mouth Cancer. Research shows Vitamin C helps to prevent Pancreatic Cancer, Prostate Cancer and inhibits the further growth and division of existing Prostate Cancer cells. Vitamin C reduces the risk of Skin Cancer and reduces the risk of Stomach Cancer (in one trial, 4,000 mg of Vitamin C per day decreased the risk of Stomach Cancer by 50%).

Vitamin C helps to prevent abnormal Blood Clotting. In one study the daily administration of 2,000 mg of Vitamin C prevented the formation of new blood clots and caused existing blood clots to disappear.

Vitamin C strengthens the Arteries and alleviates Hemorrhoids by strengthening the Blood Vessels, nonetheless a Vitamin C deficiency can be the root cause Hemorrhoids.

4000 mg of Vitamin C per day improves the Cell function in Congestive Heart Failure patients. It helps to prevent and treat Angina. Vitamin C helps to prevent Heart Attacks and is useful in the treatment of people who have recently experienced a Heart Attack. Dr. Linus Pauling spent many years researching and advocating the use of Vitamin C. He considered the vitamin to be a simple, inexpensive food, and easily assimilated supplement. He also believed that the human population should be informed of this nutrient in order to live a long and happy life. Vitamin C contributes to the body’s many functions, as well as supports and enhances its immune defense system. Research will continue to unravel the mysteries and complexities of the function of the body. No doubt, Vitamin C will have a place in that research for the many years to come, as its significant presence deserves such attention.

Now, I’ve only given you a few drops in the bucket so far but by the time this show is over I hope you are saying my cup runneth over! And saying all that to say, a few more wonderful functions of Vitamin C is that it increases Sexual Desire (by facilitating the production of Sexual Steroid Hormones). And that’s a good thing!

In fact a Vitamin C deficiency increases the risk of Cervical Dysplasia. Vitamin C alleviates Female Infertility. And I see a lot of that in counseling! Not that I would know anything about that with 8 children…And now those of you not wanting more children will never take Vitamin C again!!! No way, ya gotta take it for health and vitality! Vitamin C (at least 1,200 mg per day taken in divided doses) alleviates the hot flashes associated with the Female Menopause. Vitamin C concentrates in the female Ovaries and the female body's requirement for Vitamin C increases during Pregnancy. Vitamin C alleviates Male Infertility by improving Sperm motility and quality. You’re probably saying, “I bet her husband has always taken a lot of Vitamin C.

And for the guys, Vitamin C improves Sperm quality, motility and viability and protects the Sperm from the genetic damage that can cause hereditary diseases in offspring. Vitamin C concentrates in the Testes of the male Testicles. So for the male and female, Vitamin C is essential for sex hormones in all areas if ya know what I mean.

Now, along with making your world a happier place, Vitamin C alleviates Constipation, Vitamin C clears the colon when Bowel tolerance levels of Vitamin C are reached and what is bowel tolerance you say. Well, it’s when your bowels can’t take any more and things begin to flush, and flush, and flush! And your load has been lightened! In fact one of the best things you can do for chronic fatigue and fibromylagia is to do Vitamin C to bowel tolerance! You take chrystalized Vitamin C about 3000 mg per serving and mix in juice or water and drink. Then you do it again in an hour, then you do it again in another hour, then you do it again, and depending on your body, you will indeed reach bowel tolerance and all those things that hold you back will be released! When doing this a minimum of 3 days in a row, many chronic illness symptoms simply disappear. You want to try and reach 25,000 to 30,000 mg of Vitamin C per day.

Your life will be changed! And your pipes will be clean!
And speaking of pipes!!! Vitamin C deficiency is common in Crohn’s Disease patients - this does not imply that Vitamin C alleviates Crohn’s Disease but does imply that Crohn’s Disease patients may need to supplement with Vitamin C in order to avoid Vitamin C deficiency.

Vitamin C reduces the incidence of Gallbladder disease as well as helping to prevent Gallstones. Vitamin C (3,000 - 5,000 mg per day) alleviates Halitosis, that’s bad breath!!! Vitamin C helps to prevent and treat (chronic) Pancreatitis (due to the Antioxidant properties of Vitamin C) and it accelerates the healing of Peptic Ulcers.

Hey, I don’t think there’s anything in your body that Vitamin C won’t help! In his studies Dr. Pauling decided to take 3 grams of Vitamin C daily for 3 years. He immediately noted that as he took the vitamin his sense of wellness improved and he wasn’t experiencing the dreaded cold that plagued him for 40 years. He concluded that the intake of vitamin C could enhance, as well as prolong life expectancy, and therefore went forth to advocate its use for the remaining 30 years of his life.

Vitamin C actually helps to retard the Aging Process! And everyone says, AMEN! Oral Vitamin C actually counteracts the Aging Process.
