We're going to have a beauty pageant. That's right I said beauty pageant, a mineral beauty pageant! One you won't want to miss. Have you had all of your minerals today? Well, according to government research, the answer is probably not. The U.S. Department of Agriculture reports that the average American consumes only about 60 percent of the essential minerals their bodies actually needs. You might be saying, "So what!" Well, I'll tell you what, if you're taking a multi-vitamin, without sufficient amounts of minerals, you can't absorb your vitamins! You can't digest your food properly and with that in mind we present to you, "The one, the only, Pageant of Minerals" right here on Alternative Health! And with no further ado, let's get started!
I present to you Miss Calcium - with all of the warnings about osteoporosis, I know you've heard about Miss Calcium a lot. She is absolutely vital for strong bones and teeth, and does much more. She helps the body maintain a regular heartbeat, and aids in the transmission of nerve impulses. Miss Calcium naturally lowers bad cholesterol, helps prevent cardiovascular disease, and wards off muscle cramps. You go girl!
Next we have Miss Copper - if you're thinking pennies, she's worth a whole lot more than that. Miss Copper aids in the formation of bone, hemoglobin, and red blood cells. She is currently involved in your body's healing process, energy production and influences the color of skin and hair. Miss Copper is required for healthy nerves, joints, and even influences your sensitivity to taste! If you're prematurely grey, consult with Miss Copper.
And here comes Miss Iodine - Miss Iodine is essential for mental and physical development - so much so, that if children are lacking in it, they could end up mentally challenged. Miss Iodine is necessary for a healthy thyroid, as well as metabolizing excess fat. Deficiencies in Iodine have been linked to breast cancer and are also associated with fatigue, neo-natal hypothyroidism, and weight gain.
OK, we're back with our "Top Ten Mineral Finalist" We've seen, Miss Calcium, Miss Copper and Miss Iodine. Will, everyone help me welcome, Miss Magnesium--if you suffer from PMS or depression, this little lady mineral could be your magic bullet. Miss Magnesium is a vital catalyst in enzyme activity--particularly the enzymes involved in the production of energy. She helps the body absorb calcium and potassium, as well as helping prevent muscle weakness and twitching, while maintaining your body's proper PH balance. She even helps with bowel movements. A deficiency in Miss Magnesium interferes with the transmission of nerve and muscle impulses, resulting in irritability and nervousness. If that's you, hint, hint, hint! Pleeeeaaaassseee, see Miss Magnesium...
And here comes Miss Manganese--Not many have heard of her but - Oh is she essential, and that's why she is our fairest of top ten minerals. Miss Manganese is a must-have if you're low in iron. Miss Manganese is even required for the metabolism of protein and fat, healthy nerves, a healthy immune system, and proper regulation of your blood sugar. Your body uses Miss Manganese to produce energy and she's required for normal bone growth, reproduction, the formation of cartilage and the production of synovial fluid--which lubricates the body's joints and tendons. So if you have joint pain - Give Miss Manganese your vote!
And one of my favorites is next, Miss Phosphorus--she is one mineral that definitely contributes to glowing health! Miss Phosphorus assists your body both in utilizing vitamins and converting food to energy. She's needed for bone and teeth formation and cell growth, and helps both heart and kidney function. A deficiency in Miss Phosphorus can lead to anxiety, bone pain, fatigue, irregular breathing, irritability, numbness, skin sensitivity, trembling, weakness and weight changes! My, my, my, Miss Phosphorus, how valuable you are!
Hey, we're back with more mineral beauties, so far we've seen Miss Calcium, Miss Copper, Miss Iodine, then we saw Miss Magnesium, Miss Manganese, and Miss Phosphorus! WOW, WOW, WOW, let's give them a hand.......And next, one of the unsung hero's of Mineral Beauties comes Miss Silicon--a mineral superhero! She helps our bodies absorb Miss Calcium, and plays a major role in the prevention of cardiovascular disease. Since Miss Silicon also counteracts the effects of aluminum, she's essential in the prevention of Alzheimer's disease and osteoporous. While doing all this, Miss Silicon stimulates the immune system and inhibits the aging process in our tissues. Miss Silicon is amazing if I do say so myself!
And moving on, here comes Miss Sodium--now unfortunately we hear all too often to avoid Miss Sodium but I think this Mineral pageant will change your mind! Most foods contain Miss Sodium, so we often over look her. But that doesn't lessen her importance. Miss Sodium assists in regulating the body's water balance and blood PH. She helps maintain normal heart rhythm, and is necessary for proper stomach, nerve and muscle function. Miss Sodium is needed by all of us!
And now lets take a look at Miss Sulphur--think of her as "The Beauty Mineral of Minerals". Miss Sulphur is not only necessary for the formation of collagen for bones and connective tissue, but promotes healthy nails, skin and hair: While doing all this Miss Sulphur also disinfects our blood, helps the body to resist bacteria, and protects the protoplasm of cells. Miss Sulphur also slows down the aging process by protecting us from the harmful effects of radiation and pollution. No wonder she is called the Beauty Mineral!!!
And last but not least is the trace mineral of minerals...Miss Zinc--and in this case, last defintely doesn't mean least. Miss Zinc is essential for the normal growth and development of reproductive organs, and is required for normal prostate gland function. Miss Zinc works hard at protecting our liver from chemical damage, she promotes a healthy immune system, and assists in the healing of wounds. Some of the symptoms indicating that you may be deficient in Miss Zinc include acne, fatigue, hair loss, cracking or peeling fingernails, recurring colds and flu and slow healing of wounds.
The facts are that there are 103 minerals and trace minerals, over 90 of them are essential! They're called essential because they're essential.....The sad fact is that we used to get minerals and trace minerals in our food! But because of the way our food is grown, sprayed and imported we just don't get the minerals we need! Unfortunately not only do we need to supplement but we must supplement. Minerals are supplement 101!!! Without minerals in our body, nothing else works properly and you will not get full usage of whatever else you may be taking.
Now, along with knowing how essential minerals are; know that they are usually hard to absorb and that's why taking liquid minerals are the only way to go! I've been using these essential minerals for years, no preservatives, no sugar, no added coloring, just liquid minerals!
