Show Notes: Hair Show Printable Version
Hey who doesn’t want good looking hair? I do and I’ve gotta tell ya, I have naturally curly hair and it’s wild and wooly at times. So what do I need, do I need another bottle of conditioner? Another shampoo? Something else to ease my friz? No, No, No…the best my hair can possibly be is when I am eating right and taking the nutrients in that my body needs to get the mop under control! And that’s what today’s show is all about. Right foods, right supplements, what to do and what not to do! Let’s get started!

Split Ends, dry brittle hair, what’ll you do? And what causes it?
Well, studies show it can be caused from Low thyroid and if that’s the case, you need to get it fixed! That low thyroid will do more harm than split ends! It’ll make you fat, make you sick, brain fog and well you know, that’s another show, get it fixed!

What about dry hair, does it mean you have a conditioner deficiency? I don’t think so! Dry hair can mean you have a hormone imbalance such as estrogen dominance, yikes!!! That even goes for guys…That’s a scary thing…Make sure you have sufficient levels of Progesterone, so there’s balance and once again, low thyroid will also cause dry hair. Iodine is said to alleviate Dry Hair because it assists in thyroid function.

And what if you’re 28 and people are calling you the silver fox! Don’t go grey too early and hey why go there at all! If you’re grey before your time, you’ve got a copper deficiency!!!

Hey, great hair is on the way…

Beautiful hair is what I’m talking about…so what if you’re not too dry but too oily? Well, if you want to get rid of the oil slick on your head, take MSM! That natural sulfur will fix you right up! It’ll suck the excess oil right out of you.

And next, a tough one…what if you’re not concerned with good looking hair but just hair! Men and women these days are losing their hair!
Why, good question! Are you saying, is she going to say low thyroid again? Well, as a matter of fact, yes. 50% of people with Hyprothyroidism lose hair either a little or a lot! That’s half!

Auto immune disorders are associated with hair loss such as Lupus and Psoriasis. And of course, everyone’s enemy that causes hair loss! STRESS!!! It’s evil, you feel bad and then it makes you look bad.

And along with the stress if you have deficiencies in folic acid or biotin, guess what, you don’t have to pull your hair out, it’ll come out by itself.

And the kicker of all kickers with regards to hair loss is sleep! Hair grows while you sleep, so if you don’t sleep and many people don’t or not enough I should say, your hair is not getting what it needs to grow, which is down time. It’s a vicious cycle, you don’t sleep, you feel stressed, you lose your hair and then you stress cuz your losing your hair!

And what about Demodex Follicularum, that’s mites to you and me. These mites are present in virtually everyone by the time a person reaches middle age. And in most cases cause no harm, or should I say no hair loss.

But in others hair loss is an absolute. Studies say that the hair loss in some individuals is because the body initiates the inflammatory response as it tries to reject the mites , it closes down the follicles, thus killing the mites but also killing the hair. Then no mites and no hair!

So we’ve talked about what gives us those bad hair days. And I’ve had my share, now lets talk about how to never have them again.

Kelp improves the condition of the Hair.
Eggs improve the condition of the Hair due to cysteine and EFA
Cold water fish
All Nuts except peanuts and their not a nut.
Extra virgin olive oil
Flax seed takes that dull hair and turns it into vibrant!
Lecithin improves the condition of the hair
Grapes due to the OPC content are very beneficial
Cucumber promotes hair growth (due to its Silicon content)
Make a smoothie with the Creations Bounty due to flax content

Now that we know what to eat, lets talk about what to take!

• Folic Acid 800mcg per day (proven to increase hair growth)
• Essential Fatty Acids
• Raw Thymus glandular for the immune
• B-Complex (Aids in fighting stress)
• Vitamin C 3,000-10,000 mg per day (Aids in circulation to the scalp)
• Zinc (Stimulates hair growth by enhancing immune function)
• All oxygen enhancing products for circulation (Body Oxygen, Clustered Water, CoQ 10, etc…)
• Copper 3 mg daily. Works with zinc to aid in hair growth as well as grey prevention
• Lots of garlic in diet and supplement to rid mites
• Tea Tree Oil to wash hair(kills bacteria and mites). Use 10 drops into the scalp, massage in then shampoo. Once a month is excellent as an anti fungal.
• And bovine thyroid and liquid iodine.
• Collagen is excellent for hair, skin and nails, it will make you have to get your hair cut every 3 weeks, like me!

Ok lets wrap this thing up, while those salon shampoo’s smell great, and lather wonderfully, their just not getting it. And bottom line is if you have bad hair, the real deal is there is some type of deficiency in your diet or in your lifestyle. Make changes, get to the root. You’ll look better and you’ll feel better. We’ve talked about the foods to eat, the stress to get rid of and the supplements to take. Example, if your losing your hair due to low thyroid, a hair transplant cost a lot and still does not fix the problem. By supplementing, you get to the root and remember where there is fruit there is a root. Correct the problem, then the hair will fix itself.
